Common records

A and AAAA records point to IP addresses, CNAME points one name to another, MX selects mail servers and TXT carries verification or email authentication data.

Plan changes

Back up the current zone, confirm target values and consider lowering TTL before a planned migration.

Validate after publishing

Query authoritative and public resolvers, check website access and verify MX, SPF and DKIM. Keep the previous service online until propagation is complete.
