How to Install cPanel and Web Hosting on a Türkiye VDS
By installing cPanel on a Türkiye VDS you can manage several websites, domains, databases and email accounts from a central panel. This setup suits agencies, businesses with several projects and teams that want to offer hosting to their own customers.
Installing cPanel is more than just running an install command. The right operating system, enough resources, a licence, the hostname, DNS, security, email reputation and external backups should be planned from the start.
How do you choose a VDS for cPanel?
CPU and RAM needs vary with the number of sites hosted, visitor traffic, PHP processes, database usage and email load. Apart from the space used by the operating system and the cPanel services, enough NVMe capacity should be left for web files, databases, logs and temporary backups.
- For a few small sites, you can pick a starter plan by measuring resource consumption.
- For WooCommerce or database-heavy projects, extra CPU and RAM headroom should be left.
- If many accounts will be hosted, additional licences such as CloudLinux and LiteSpeed can be considered.
- Backups should not be kept as a single copy on the same VDS.
What you need before installation
- A clean installation of a supported operating system
- A static IP address
- A valid hostname for the server
- A DNS record pointing the hostname to the server IP
- An active cPanel licence
- Root access for installation and updates
The cPanel installation process
After the operating system is updated and the hostname is verified, cPanel's official installation instructions should be followed. When installation is finished, network, nameservers, security, PHP versions, packages and account policies are configured in WHM. Installation commands taken from random internet sources should not be used on a production server.
DNS and nameserver configuration
For domains to point to the server, nameserver records and their IP matches must be defined correctly. DNS changes can take time to propagate. Even if the website opens, the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for email must be checked separately.
SSL, email and security
AutoSSL should be enabled, unnecessary services turned off and management ports protected with a firewall. A strong password or SSH key should be used for the root account, with protection against failed logins and a regular update policy.
If you will send email, IP reputation, the PTR/rDNS record and sending limits matter. Do not start bulk email from a new server; recipient consent and service policies should be respected.
Backup plan
cPanel backups should be sent to a different server or independent storage. Daily, weekly and monthly retention policies should be set according to how quickly data changes, and not only whether backups are created but whether restores work should be tested regularly.
FiberVM and full management support
Through FiberVM you can monitor VDS resources, restart the server and, when needed, reach the VNC console. If you need help with installation or migration, share the sites you will use, the control panel and the estimated traffic to get technical support for the full management scope.
To choose the right infrastructure you can review the Türkiye VDS plans; and if you will host only one site, you can also compare the web hosting plans that carry a lower management load.
